WW2 Ethopian & British Medal Bar Combat Service 5x Medal Grouping Menelik Medal. Full size medals!This is an extremely scarce and possibly unique medal grouping. This was most likely awarded to an Ethiopian Soldier who served with or was attached to a British & later on UN unit. It is probable this grouping belonged to a high ranking ethopian military officer. If you collect ethopian medals you know that finding them with foriegn decorations is extremely scarce if not near impossible. Additionally finding war period or even 50s mounted examples of any ethopian medals very unlikely. This mounting dates to early 1950s and is an extremely early UN medal present.
This bar includes the British African Star Medal (unnamed), the United Nations Medal (very early example), The Gold Medal Of Menelik II, Gold Medal of Menelik II Second award and Silver Medal or Menelik II. It is very hard to find someone awarded 2x Gold Medals and 1x Silver Medal of Menelik II. Overall this set is very very scarce mounting is period done and is salty but solid and overall looks great! Menelik Medals were awarded into the 1930s and 40s and im not sure if they were awarded past that!
