Type LO T770. These are used when a PCB is mounted parallel and close
to a front panel such that there is only very little space between the PCB
and the front panel. Which i.e. may be the membrane of a keyboard and the
PCB has the contacts for the switches on the side facing the membrane,
so
there is no space for any components on that side. Hence, a hole is
designed into the PCB beneath the LED through which the light escapes:

Sounds like some weird special case used in the electronics industry,
but for hobby purposes, you can bend the SMD leads using pliers into
any desired angle and then solder the LED into your PCB such that
the light shines in any direction as you desire. Which makes this
LED a versatile device.
