PONTIAC 1961 1962 NOS LH OUTSIDE REAR VIEW SPORT MIRROR (NO GLASS) BONNEVILLE GP

Description

NOS OEM GM 1961-1962 full-size Pontiac LH outside non remote sport mirror. Original box is in rough shape. Not sure if this mirror originally came with glass in it and it was taken out to be used elsewhere or if it came without but either way, it's not there. If you have a rough pitted up used mirror with good glass you could transfer that glass and the retaining ring to this mirror. Mirror is 4 1/4" in diameter and appears to be same as a number of other '60's GM side mirrors (I've got '61 and '67 Oldsmobile mirrors and the glass and reaining ring looks like it would fit from either of those) so finding a mirror and retaining ring for this one shouldn't be a difficult task. Chrome plating is really nice but there's a few small blemishes typical of the quality of chrome plating from this era. There's a small area about 1/2" x 1/2" with some small raised 'speckles' in the chrome just below the horizontal bullet shaped portion of the stalk just behind the mirror head (you can see it in pic #4 if you enlarge it). There's a few small nicks on the bottom rear of the mounting stalk, might be 'shelf wear' nicks from poor handling (see pic #9). These flaws are real minor and I doubt most sellers would even bother to point them out. There's also some pits in the diecast on the inside under where the mirror glass is, certainly hidden when the glass is installed.
