    It is a covered dish which will go from the oven to the table, often referred to as a pate casserole. This example bears the 3-D likeness of a Woodcock on the lid and features a pastry crust border. It is marked on the bottom. Dimensions are approximately seven and three-quarter inches in length, four and three-quarter inches in width, and 5 inches in height.
    This was purchased by the previous owner in the 1970's when she went to France. This tureen is from the 1930's. There is a chip on the inside rim, most probably from a utensil hitting it. Luckily, there are no cracks just a clean chip.
