Charleen Kinser Forever Toys Brown Freda Be Fierce #3/300, 1991, NOSS

This auction is for one of my most favorites of all Charleen's "monsters,” Freda Be Fierce...actually she is not fierce at all, (rather she is protector of the night) unless provoked by another [evil] monster.   Freda is 20" tall and is made of very soft brown velvet with all over polka dots. She wears a pink and white flannel outfit  Although her orange glass eyes with furrowed brow and her open mouth showing her tongue and bead teeth, make her look for all the world like she must be very fierce, she is really
cute and quite harmless....more like cuddly.  Her tail is short and curly with some tufts of hair, her hands
and feet have three fingers and three toes. Head and arms are jointed. Her booklet tells
very own story...as only Charleen and her super wonderful imagination could tell
.  The last picture was found on line and used by me solely to show an older catalog (?) example.  Neither Freda in that picture nor the picture are included in the sale of the Freda

Charleen’s
work is always clever, fun and
beautifully made. I found both parents and collectors were always excited to see any new work I got of hers to add to their collection.  Freda is part of my extensive remaining Kinser inventory (I kept one for myself..she is that special!) and is new old store stock stored in my non smoking home.  As is typical with pieces this age, the elastic on her PJ’s has lost most of its elasticity.  It is usually easily fixable!  I will be listing other wonderful Kinser creations in separate auctions
.  I have been in the collectible doll and bear business from the late 1980’s to the early 2000’s, setting up at bear shows and listing on eBay (as cmporter) until I had to stop because of health issues.  During my time on eBay, I had earned over 1100 positive feedbacks all of which disappeared when I had to change my user name because of a major hack.  I think the pictures should give a true representation of this dear girl but if you need to see more pictures of her please email and let me know.
